Watermelon Margarita’s for 4
Pedicure and pampering at Villa Amor del Mar… that calls for a special cocktail; watermelon margarita’s. Summing up my guests, coupled with the heat, I chose a refreshing choice.
Ingredients;
- 3 – 4 cups cubed seeded watermelon
- 4 ounces tequila
- 2 ounces of Triple sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier
- 2 -3 tablespoons cane or brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (approximately 3 key limes)
Preparation
- Cool 4 glasses in freezer for 1/2 hour or more
- On a plate, large enough to ‘dip and swivel’ your glass of choice, sprinkle 2 – 3 tablespoons of sugar
- Cut up Watermelon in cubes, nothing too fancy as it will be blended smooth anyway. I don’t measure in cups, I cut up and filled the blender about 3/4 full.
Squeeze in 3 limes (or more or less to taste). AFTER squeezing limes, take the glasses from the freezer and rub the rims with the lime leftovers and dip and swivel in the sugar. Set glasses aside.
Add sugar (or more or less to taste)
And Blend, blend, blend to the consistency you prefer. My guests liked slushy style so that’s what they got!
Sip and enjoy!! Many thanks to my guests who told me these were the best Margaritas they EVER had!
Adapted with thanks, from this recipe I found on the web.
