Langosta DIEZ La Cruz, International Cuisine and Art Gallery; An unforgettable dining experience.

To experience an indoor patio as spectacular as the food is a delight to the senses. Airy and pretty, decorated mainly in white, mimicking our refreshing coastal scenes; Langosta Diez has created a casually elegant environment. Decorated with a palette of blue hues, which they modify for special celebrations and seasons of the year. Every table, every corner delights with details intended to create visual joy while enjoying your meal.

The restaurant is also a gallery; artisan furniture is made in Jalisco, Mexico, tinted with different hues of smoke, hazel, old blue and vintage white. All paintings and decor items are for sale. “You like it, you pay for it, you take it!”

Handbags made by prisoners; Langosta DIEZ La Cruz helps them. A very good way to re-integrate the prisoners into society, since they make the bags and their wives sell it.

Gorgeous blown glass, oil paintings, purses, items for your dining table and so much more.

Langosta DIEZ La Cruz sells blown glass in all different colors imaginable. You’ll find lovely bowls, glasses and beautiful wall art as well. The artisans are definitely masters of their craft. These pieces are absolutely gorgeous and of a very fine quality that you won’t find anywhere else.

Javier Alba González has lived in the area all his life, originally from Valle de Banderas. He was eager to share the beauty of our beautiful village with his bride, Berenice Uribe, from Guadalajara, as she likes to fish, snorkel and scuba dive!

Before they opened the restaurant Javier worked at Promar Vallarta as a fish vendor salesman. At Langosta Diez; he is the general manager.

Prior to life in La Cruz, Berenice says “I love working and I love to serve. I like to create unique places. I’m an accountant but originally I wanted to become a Civil Engineer like my Dad. I enjoy supervising the building of houses and I enjoy decorating them as well. My mom was an accountant and liked décor too so I guess it all runs in the family.” Fun fact: Berenice’s mother’s sister was the first woman accountant in Guadalajara.

Choosing the name was logical, they wanted it to be easy to find and it is on the street Langosta. The official number of the property is ten and it is in La Cruz. Also we got our permits on November 10th and opened December 10th. (2015). Diez = Ten. Berenice exclaimed “The way we see it: We want YOU to give us a TEN!”

Langosta Diez specializes in fusion cuisine. The menu includes a selection of fine dishes from International, Mediterranean, Argentinean, Italian and French cuisines; created with the intention of sharing a selection of our very favourite dishes, that is why our slogan reads:

“Sharing fusions, secrets, and out of the ordinary flavours!”

They put special care in their quality using only healthy ingredients. We are proud of our finger food, entrees, pizzas and desserts. Our pizzas are prepared with very fine dough, baked in a wood oven that creates a unique flavour and adds a crunchy texture. We bake the duck, turkey, lasagna, cannelloni’s and apple tart in our wood oven also.

Berenice feels rewarded by “I’m happy to create a unique place, atmosphere and give a personal service”

When asked what inspires her?  “I admire the service at boutique and luxury hotels and fine restaurants. I adore nature, handcrafts, Mexican materials, etc. I dream on several ideas and then I knew what to do to get a little of everything in one unique place. I want to feel that I’m on vacation every single day!”

When cooking at home Berenice’s favourites are chiles rellenos, chilaquiles, fajitas, carne asada and salad.

Desserts are spectacular at Langosta Diez;

A very Mexican Dessert: ¡Agave!

Made with tequila ice cream, coffee caviar, banana in agave honey, lemon cookies.

Their latest dessert is all the rage, Nitro Ice Cream, made to order at your table!

Berenice really likes the growth of La Cruz with the new resorts, the Marina, the little restaurants and shops and hopes the beaches always stay clean.

If you had a magic wand, what would your wish for La Cruz de Huanacaxtle be 5 years from now and beyond? “I would like to have a very Mexican town with small resorts for accommodations, small stores, etc., similar to Sayulita but cleaner and not so expensive.”

When I inquired about what she was most proud of in life, Berenice told me, “Taking care of my parents for ten years. They were very ill of diabetes but I was with them to their last minutes of life. I also took care of my grandparents. We had very hard times: I was travelling a lot because of my job, the medicines and doctors were very expensive, I was very tired but I’m happy that I did something for them.”

When visiting, please remember to thank them for ‘adopting’ the glorieta (circle where the cross is outside of the restaurant) and the boulevard where they removed the weeds and added pretty flowers! I so appreciate that!!
